Foam Buster Model 4
The Foam Buster 4 deaerator is passive 2- stage Hydrocyclone. It has no moving parts. The process is driven by an inlet pump. Air containing fluid is fed into the primary classification chamber via a tangential inlet, causing the fluid to spin. Centrifugal force drives the large air bubbles to the center where they can escape out a vertical air column. The primary classifier shears the large bubbles and causes them to coalesce into the air core. Removing the large bubbles from the fluid first improves the operation of the secondary classifier. The secondary chamber has increased centrifugal force causing the smaller bubbles to migrate to the air core removing them from the outlet flow. Rejects containing large ½ inch bubbles and foamy liquid are typically returned to the tank before the deaerator.

Air leaves the system is large bubbles from the air column. High air content foam breaks naturally at the top of the tank. In cases where the foam doesn’t break naturally, we redirect the rejects immediately back into the inlet for further treatment. The high air content streamline act as like a large bubble, gets classified and sheared in the primary chamber, and coalesces the smaller bubbles so they can leave via the air core.
